Marvin Johnson Named Phase Director Boys & Girls (U7-U12)
Coppermine Soccer Powered by Orlegi Sports is proud to announce the appointment of Marvin Johnson as Phase Director for the U7-U12 age groups.
A highly respected coach and former professional player, Marvin brings more than three decades of elite soccer experience to the club. A UEFA “A” Licensed coach, Marvin has dedicated his career to developing young players both in the United States and abroad, with a strong reputation for building technical foundations, fostering player confidence, and creating high-performance learning environments.
Marvin’s coaching career includes leadership roles with FC Virginia as Director of Player Development, Academy Manager at Luton Town FC, Assistant Manager at Kettering Town FC, and founder of the Marvin Johnson Soccer Academy. Throughout his coaching journey, he has helped develop numerous top-level players, including Curtis Davies and Leon Barnett, while also producing several players who advanced into first-team professional football.
Before transitioning into coaching, Marvin enjoyed an outstanding professional playing career spanning over 400 matches with Luton Town FC, where he served as team captain for five years and was part of the club’s historic 1988 Littlewoods Cup-winning squad.
In his role as Phase Director, Marvin will oversee player development for the U7-U12 age groups, focusing on technical excellence, age-appropriate curriculum implementation, coach mentorship, and creating a positive developmental pathway for young athletes throughout the Coppermine Soccer platform.
