Player Development

Coppermine Soccer Club's grassroots and club players progress through our club's five phases of development. Each phase is carefully designed to provide the best player experience in all four pillars of the game technical, tactical, physical, and social.

This produces players that are not only technically accomplished, but love the game, are self-motivated, and intelligent.

What We Learn

"What We Learn" is a video produced by Mayers Films. This short film captures the essence of Coppermine Soccer Club's youth soccer program, showcasing how young players not only develop their skills on the field but also have fun doing it.

Development Phases

Development Pathway

Coppermine’s Development Pathway is inclusive and encompasses all players and levels of play. We develop players to compete at every level and prepare them to progress to their highest potential. Their development is not restricted by race, gender, or economic standing. Our pathway is non-sequential, and players can move to any higher level based on their ability and desire.

All CSC 11v11 teams train with Evolve Sports Performance. This comprehensive, results-driven program focuses on the whole athlete to improve performance, prevent injuries, and develop the self-confidence necessary to reach their goals.

All CSC keepers have access to position specific weekly training. The program is led by our Goalkeeper Director Brock Yetso. This custom functional training environment allows our keepers to develop a love for the game/position and become part of our keeper union.

Ball Mastery Program is designed to master 1v1 skills, improve speed of play, maximize touches, and increase players confidence handling the ball in all situations. Players should have some experience playing soccer and want to continue developing their first touch and 1v1 skills.

Strikers and Keepers Program is designed for goalkeepers and strikers (field players) to challenge one another in their respective positions. Keepers will improve their technique while strikers spend time on finishing skills.

The Elite Player Training Program is an intensive one-week camp designed to take a player’s game to the next level. It is a hybrid program that includes speed and agility training, ball mastery training, and small sided games with a focus on shooting and finishing technique.

CSC offers a number of soccer camps throughout the season to assist in the development of all players regardless of club affiliation.  To view our camps, please visit our camps program page.
